Travis Kelce, renowned for his prowess on the football field and his association with Taylor Swift, is stepping into a new arena with his reported first major acting role in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror series, Grotesque.
The 34-year-old American football star will share the screen with Niecy-Nash Betts, Courtney B Vance, and Lesley Manville in the mysterious series set to premiere this fall, as per Deadline. Kelce’s representatives, as well as Murphy’s team, have not yet commented on the news.
Details about the series have been kept tightly under wraps, adding to the anticipation surrounding its release. This latest venture follows Kelce’s recent signing to host Amazon Prime Video’s Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?, a spin-off of the popular game show Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?.
Kelce’s foray into entertainment began with the 2016 reality dating show Catching Kelce and continued with a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live in 2023, following his Super Bowl victory. His off-field representation is now managed by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), known for handling top-tier talent like Zendaya and Tom Hanks.
While Kelce’s celebrity status has been on the rise, his connection with Swift has undoubtedly drawn more attention. Their rumored romance began in September 2023 when Swift attended a Chiefs game, eventually boosting ticket sales by 175 per cent with her subsequent game attendance.
Reflecting on his unlikely relationship with Swift, Kelce humorously admitted on a recent episode of his New Heights podcast that he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, a retired NFL player, “I don’t know how I did it because she was not into sports. So I don’t know how the f*** I did it.”
