Former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden by 4 points across multiple swing states, according to a survey released this week by Bloomberg/Morning Consult.
The poll found that in a hypothetical rematch between Trump and Biden across seven battleground states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin — Trump garnered 48 percent of the vote compared to Biden’s 44 percent.
Including third-party and independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, and Jill Stein, Trump still maintained a 4-point lead over Biden, with 44 percent to Biden’s 40 percent. Kennedy received 7 percent of the vote, while West and Stein each received 1 percent.
These findings are consistent with a recent poll from The New York Times, which showed Trump ahead of Biden by 3 percentage points in Pennsylvania, 5 points in Michigan, 7 points in Arizona, 10 points in Georgia, and 12 points in Nevada.
The Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll also revealed that more voters in the swing states believed the economy was “better off” under the Trump administration. Approximately 51 percent of registered voters surveyed said the economy was more robust under Trump, while 36 percent said it was “better off” under Biden. Thirteen percent felt the economy has been “about the same” under both administrations.
The Bloomberg/Morning Consult poll was conducted from May 7-13, with a sample of 4,962 registered voters from the seven swing states. The margin of error for the survey is plus or minus 1 percentage point.
Voters will soon see Biden and Trump face off on their policy agendas, as the two have agreed to two debates scheduled for late June.
