President Joe Biden is seeking assistance from former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to boost his fundraising efforts with an event in Virginia. This move highlights Biden’s need for substantial financial support as he prepares for the upcoming election.
This follows a recent fundraiser in New York, where Biden teamed up with Bill Clinton and former President Barack Obama, hosted by Stephen Colbert, which raised $26 million for Biden’s re-election campaign.
According to Axios, Biden and Bill Clinton will join forces for a major fundraising event on June 18, hosted by former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe at his home in McLean, Virginia. The event will feature First Lady Jill Biden and Hillary Clinton, adding significant star power to the fundraiser.
The event is part of a series of high-profile fundraisers that combine the influence of multiple Democratic leaders. It follows the successful New York event and precedes another planned fundraiser with Biden, Clinton, and Obama in mid-June in Los Angeles, hosted by George Clooney.
McAuliffe, a former Democratic National Committee chairman and longtime confidant of both presidents, will host the Virginia fundraiser. The event is expected to have two tiers: a general reception and a more exclusive, higher-priced dinner aimed at securing large contributions from the D.C. area.
It seems that Joe Biden is unable to sufficiently fundraise on his own
