Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has disclosed experiencing severe health challenges, including a peculiar incident involving a brain-eating parasite, according to a report by The New York Times. Kennedy, 70, described suffering from significant memory loss and mental fog starting in 2010. During a 2012 deposition related to his divorce, he recounted a New York doctor’s diagnosis attributing these symptoms to a worm that had infiltrated his brain, consumed part of it, and subsequently died.
This health revelation coincided with Kennedy’s struggle with mercury poisoning, which manifested symptoms such as loss of peripheral vision, muscle weakness, and memory lapses—issues that he has since recovered from. Kennedy, an environmental advocate with extensive travel history in regions like Africa, South America, and Asia, attributed the parasitic infection to one of these trips. Despite these past health issues, his campaign has asserted that he has been in excellent health for over a decade.
Thankfully, Kennedy seems to have fully recovered from these health challenges, and he now reports being in robust physical and mental condition as he continues his presidential campaign.
